ArchiveSocial, Inc., seeks Senior Database Administrator (Durham, NC) Duties: Manage MySQL Server databases through all environments, from development to product-critical production systems. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Manage Solr search data infrastructure through all environments, from development to product-critical production systems. Synchronize databases and search systems on a continuous basis. Apply data modeling techniques to ensure the development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations. Create new databases and tables per data modeling outcomes. Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Resolve issues in alignment with company SLAs while establishing and maintaining communication with Customer Support Team. Initiate changes on production systems and proactively escalate issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes. Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities. Manage disaster recovery processes and systems. Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems.
Required: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or related positions in database management.
Must have 5 years of experience with Relational Databases, database architecture and database design. Must have 4 years of experience with data technologies (SQL Server, Postgres).
Must have 2 years of experience with: Modifying existing schema to new schema; Upgrading database systems through any major versions; Data Analysis and Reporting; Disaster Recovery. Must have experience migrating data from one system to another.
