A Kansas native, Van Dyke has spent the past four years working in communications for local government, specializing in social media and strategic communications. At the City of Austin, Van Dyke has lead the way in updating the City’s social media policy; formalizing and overseeing the work of the Social Media Committee; and developing best practices and protocols for social media use, including archiving, content guidelines, and language access. Prior to working in local government, she covered local government as a newspaper reporter. She has three dog children and has a passion for running and 80’s music.
