Happy Monday! Now that we’re smack dab in the middle of summer, we here at ArchiveSocial are taking full advantage of all of the great outdoor activities offered in our area.
Of course, we like to find out what’s happening at our local parks before we go out to play. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up 4 stellar examples of parks & rec departments that are engaging with their citizens online.
San Antonio, TX
The San Antonio Department of Parks and Recreation has a nicely designed, user-friendly website. The best program they offer has to be Fit Pass. Those that attended the free and low cost events earn points to win a variety of prizes. Bonus points for having a dedicated twitter account for the program!
Cleveland, OH
Cleveland Metroparks gets props for their use of a social media hub, allowing citizens to follow all of the department’s social media activity in one centralized location.
Indianapolis, IN
Another great website design, we choose Indy Parks & Recreation because of the calendar functionality. From the main website, citizens can click on the Indy Parks & Rec Summer Concert Series calendar and easily subscribe. Pretty cool, right?
Bismarck, ND
Bismarck, ND has 48 parks. We like that during the month of July, they’re using their website to highlight some of the cool attractions in featured parks.
July happens to be Parks and Recreation Month, and many cities are hosting cool events to celebrate. Make sure to check out your local parks & rec department to see what’s happening in your neighborhood!
